About Your Session {What to Expect}

If you’ve never had a session with me before, you may be wondering, what happens after I book? Take a look at some frequently asked questions.

WHERE WILL MY SESSION TAKE PLACE?

I know lots of great locations in the Williamsport and surrounding areas for photo shoots. Most of my sessions take place at the lake, alongside a riverbank, in the woods, on long paths, on a farm, or downtown. If you have a specific location in mind, let me know! If you’re unsure, I can recommend some of my favorite spots based on the time and weather. (Note that some places require fees or permits for professional photography.) Craving something indoors? I also have a studio!

HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION LAST?

Regular sessions last approximately an hour. but I do not generally watch the clock for full sessions. I will often advertise for mini session events - those sessions last around 20 minutes and are scheduled back to back with other clients.

WHEN WILL OUR SESSION TAKE PLACE?

I shoot mostly on the weekends and weekday evenings, though I love the occasional early morning weekend session too! As a mom, I understand kids can get fussy too close to bedtime, so morning sessions are a nice alternative when golden hour isn’t feasible.

WHAT IF IT RAINS ON OUR OUTDOOR SESSION DATE?

Rain and severe high wind weather dates result in a reschedule. In situations where a reschedule is not possible, we will locate a covered or indoor location like my Williamsport studio. (Note: indoor venue fees may apply for certain venues.)

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

Styling assistance is included (when requested) to help you select the perfect outfit or outfits. I am happy to see as many phone snapshots of your ideas and outfit choices as you’d like and to offer advice and also suggestions on where to shop. Also, think about your hands and nails; I love using hands in photographs!

For the littles ones, bring along some non-messy snacks like Puffs or Smarties for times when I give the kids a little break — or bribery. :) Also, wipes come in handy for a lot - muddy hands, runny noses, and baby spit up. If your child has a favorite toy, lovey, or book, bring that too!

Consider packing a brush, lip gloss, backup clothes, and bug spray.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER OUR SESSION?

You will see a sneak peek on Facebook or Instagram within a day of your session - usually within a few hours! You’re welcome to tag and share these photos! This preview will give you an idea of what you will see in your full gallery. Approximately 1-2 weeks after your session, you'll receive an email from me with a link to your password-protected online gallery.  The full-resolution jpgs can be downloaded directly from the gallery and additional prints and products can be purchased through my professional (and highly recommended!) lab.
